President Tim Penner of Procter & Gamble and Dean David Saunders of Queen’s School of Business today announced a major gift of $250,000 in support of three important initiatives at Queen’s University.

“I am delighted that our organization is once again partnering with Queen’s University, one of Canada’s premier universities, to provide an exceptional student experience for so many future leaders,” expressed Tim Penner.

The gift from Procter & Gamble will provide lead support in the development of a Masters of Global Management degree at the School of Business, which envisions graduate students enrolled in an intensive 12-month degree program involving an international project with both a partner university and a multi-national corporation in an international setting.

It will also provide funding for the School’s Corporate Social Responsibility weekend, a popular weekend of Executive Education-style lectures, workshops, simulation exercises, guest speakers and live cases with leading organizations. Students having successfully completed three weekends will graduate with a Certificate in Corporate Social Responsibility.

Finally, P&G support will greatly augment the activities of the annual IMPACT Arts and Sciences Undergraduate Society Conference, a popular leadership-development program for student leaders from across campus.

In announcing the gift, Dean David Saunders thanked P&G for their strong support of students. “P&G has been a key partner of the School of Business many years, with support to the Goodes Hall building fund and now with their important gift to student programming. They are a great partner for the School and we are proud to see them provide leadership funding for undergraduate and graduate students.”

Arts & Sciences Undergraduate Society President Lindsay Duncan shared Dr. Saunders’ enthusiasm, citing the increased number of students who will have an opportunity to participate in the IMPACT Conference for the next five years “Funding for this conference will add greatly to many students leaders’ experiences and we are thrilled with the opportunity to partner with Procter & Gamble in making this one of the pre-eminent conferences on campus.”
