How The Program Works

Queen's Accelerated MBA for Business Graduates is offered anywhere in Canada, and many international locations.

Team-Based Learning

Queen's uses a team-based learning approach to create a highly supportive and collaborative learning experience - both inside and outside the classroom. Learning Teams are formed at the beginning of the program and remain together for the duration. Each team is comprised of 6 to 8 members, with an emphasis on diversity of background.

On-Campus Sessions

There are three on-campus sessions during the program:

Opening Session at the beginning of the program
Global Business Session in May
Strategic Marketing Session in October

These sessions are held at the Donald Gordon Conference Centre, near the Queen's campus. Comfortable, private guest rooms, outstanding food, exceptional customer service, and a breadth of amenities are the hallmarks of the Centre.

Boardroom Learning Team Sessions in Your Home City

The balance of your classes takes place with your Boardroom Learning Team. These classes are delivered by multi point, interactive videoconference, all day Sunday and Monday morning every other week. Depending on your geographic location, there are 2 options.

Option 1

In Montreal, Ottawa, Kingston, Toronto, Mississauga, Markham, Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver

If you live in one of the nine cities listed above, the balance of your class time is spent in your Boardroom Learning Centre, conveniently located in your home city.

Option 2

In all other parts of Canada and international locations

If you live outside of the nine cities listed under Option 1, the balance of your class time will be spent in your home or office. You will be part of a virtual boardroom team that draws its members from across Canada and other countries. You will experience the same level of real-time connectivity as the participants attending class in their Boardroom Learning Centres. Queen’s provides all the software, tools and Team Coaching you will need to create a high-performance virtual team.

Electronic Community

ExecMBA Online is a customized portal and electronic network used to communicate with professors and your classmates outside of class. The network allows you to use your time more effectively. You will be able to download course notes, e-mail, chat or upload assignments from anywhere at any time.
